No materials — just two or more players and imagination

Sit together anywhere comfortable.

Explain: "I give you two choices, and you pick one!"

Start silly: "Would you rather fly or talk to animals?"

Ask the key follow-up: "Why?" This drives sentence building.

Share YOUR answer: "I'd choose animals because I want to know what our dog thinks!"

Let your child ask you one. Help them form the question if needed.

Get sillier: "Spaghetti for hair or watermelons for feet?"

Play 8-10 rounds, alternating who asks.

The "why" follow-up is the real star here. When a child says "I'd fly because then I could go to the moon and eat space cheese," they're constructing a complex sentence with reasoning. That's sophisticated language work disguised as a silly game.

Model complete sentence answers: instead of "fly," say "I would rather fly because I could see my whole town from above." Your child will gradually mirror this sentence structure.
