Cut a large piece of clear contact paper and tape it sticky-side-out on a wall at your toddler's height.

Gather a basket of lightweight objects — pom poms, fabric scraps, feathers, cotton balls, and foam shapes.

Place the basket next to the wall within easy reach.

Show your toddler how to press a pom pom onto the sticky surface and watch it stay put.

Encourage them to stick more objects all over the contact paper.

Demonstrate peeling something off and sticking it in a new spot.

Let your toddler go back and forth — sticking and peeling is half the fun.

Standing play is great for balance and core strength, so resist the urge to do this at table height where they'd sit.

The sticking-and-peeling motion builds the same pinch-and-release skill needed for buttoning clothes later.

Try different textures in your basket — the contrast between fluffy cotton balls and smooth foam shapes is what makes this sensory-rich.
