Sticker Peel and Stick Art Page
Give your toddler large stickers and paper to create art — peeling and placing stickers is a wonderfully challenging fine motor activity.
What You'll Need
- 1Large stickers (dot stickers, foam stickers, or themed stickers)
- 2Paper
- 3Tape
What You'll Need
Large stickers — colored dot stickers, foam stickers, or themed sticker sheets
Paper (any kind)
Tape to hold the paper in place
How to Play
Gather sheets of large stickers. Bigger stickers are easier for toddler fingers to manage. Round dot stickers from the office supply aisle are perfect.
Peel back the corner of a sticker slightly so your toddler has an edge to grab. This small assist prevents frustration.
Tape a piece of paper to the table as the art canvas. White paper shows off colorful stickers best.
Show your toddler how to peel a sticker off the sheet and press it onto the paper. Go slowly so they can see each step.
Let them choose which stickers to use and exactly where to place them. This is their artwork.
Encourage covering the whole page, making clusters, or lining stickers up in rows — however they want to arrange them.
Admire the finished sticker art together. "You put all the red ones here and the blue ones over there!"
Tips
Peeling stickers is genuinely hard for toddlers. The pinching, pulling, and placing requires fine motor control they are actively building.
Start with stickers on a flat sheet rather than a roll — sheets are easier to manage.
If peeling is too frustrating, peel each sticker halfway and let your toddler do the final pull and place.
Dot stickers are the cheapest and most versatile option. You can get a pack of hundreds for a few dollars.
This is a fantastic restaurant or waiting room activity. Throw a sticker sheet and a piece of paper in your bag for on-the-go entertainment.
