Tips
Water beads are NOT safe to eat. This is for kids who don't mouth materials, with adult supervision.
A UV flashlight (available at hardware stores) works just as well as a UV bulb and is more portable.
White items glow brightest under black light. White socks, white paper, and white pipe cleaners all react.
This makes an incredible rainy day activity or special Friday night event.
Add tonic water to the bin — it contains quinine, which fluoresces bright blue under UV light. Safe to touch.
Age Adaptation Tips
School-age kids can take more ownership. Let them lead the activity, experiment with variations, and explain what they learned.
