Foam Bath Paint on Walls

Non-mentholated shaving cream

Food coloring (3-4 colors)

A muffin tin or small cups

Popsicle sticks for stirring

Squirt shaving cream into the compartments of a muffin tin — one mound per color.

Add a different food coloring to each and stir with a popsicle stick.

Set the muffin tin on the edge of the bathtub within your toddler's reach.

Strip your toddler down and place them in the empty tub — no water yet.

Show them how to scoop foam paint and smear it on the tub walls.

Encourage big arm movements, mixing colors, drawing shapes, and going wild.

When they're done painting, turn on the water and rinse everything off during bath time.

The bathtub is the ultimate zero-cleanup art studio. Everything just rinses down the drain.

Large arm movements across the body naturally practice crossing midline — an important developmental skill.

Let them paint their own body too. Belly paint, leg paint, foot paint — it all rinses.

Use white shaving cream as an "eraser" to wipe sections clean and start over.

Food coloring can temporarily stain grout. If that worries you, use a few drops of washable liquid watercolor instead.
