Clear glycerin soap base (melt-and-pour, available at craft stores)
A microwave-safe bowl
Skin-safe fragrance oil
Soap colorant or food coloring
Dried flower petals or cosmetic glitter (optional)
Silicone molds
How to Play
Cut glycerin soap base into small cubes for faster melting.
Melt in a microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between each. Don't overheat — just liquid enough.
Add fragrance oil and colorant. Stir gently to avoid bubbles.
Add mix-ins if desired: dried lavender, rose petals, or cosmetic-grade glitter.
Pour carefully into silicone molds.
Let cool and harden for at least 2 hours (patience!). Don't touch or jostle.
Pop out of molds and admire the smooth, scented, custom creations.
Tips
Melt-and-pour soap base is pre-made and safe. No lye or dangerous chemicals involved.
The tactile experience spans the entire process: cutting the base, stirring the liquid, placing petals, and feeling the finished soap.
These make incredible gifts. Package in cellophane with ribbon for birthdays or holidays.
Experiment with layered colors — pour one color, let it partially set, then pour another on top.
Use only skin-safe fragrances and colorants. Craft stores sell them specifically for soap making.
